Scot rode to Clifton then to Yellow Springs to meet with Kurt K. Kurt drove one and a half hours from Cincinnati. They had a pizza dinner and camped at John Bryan State Park. "Kurt was great; he and I had Ha Has Pizza at Yellow Springs and walked up some Rail To Trail that we found under construction. He brought his laptop and we dumped the Palm GPS points into it."

Kurt got up at 5am to head back to Cincinnati. Scot took a walk in a limestone hill before starting his bike ride. He planned on going to the Wright Memorial. His knees hurt when he got to the top of the hill. He thinks he has strained tendons. He’s going to see if he makes it to Richmond, IN. If he doesn’t, he’s packing up to go home. If his knees don’t hurt, he’ll proceed to Springfield, IL and decide if he’s going via DesMoines, IA or Kansas.

"On my way out of Dayton, I stopped at the Dayton Daily News, but they didn't want to take my picture NOW, so they missed the chance. Maybe next time. But I was all ready to give them the Url for the News release. My knees are hurting pretty bad, but I'm happy to report I made 23 miles by 12:30 today out of Dayton, simply by using lower gears, spinning faster, and generally taking it easier. Maybe I learned something..."

"So things are going OK even if this knee pain had me just bout ready to quit last night. The messages of encouragement and the new contact in Springfield help a lot."

Scot fought the pain in his knees and arrived West Alexandria on Route 35 by 12:30pm. He continued on Route 35 to Richmond, IN and by mistake, got on Interstate 70. He was on the freeway for about a mile before he could get off. He rode back to Ohio to find another way to get back on Route 35. Tonight he’s camping in a baseball field in Green Fork, IN. He asked permission from the man living across the street. Apparently, a few people camp there. He played some baseball with the kids and worshipped the Sosa and McGwire, the competing home run record holders.

Scot rode on Route 38 to Indianapolis. He expected to get together/spend the night with Dan(?) in Indianapolis but his wife didn’t think that was a good idea. He’s disappointed. He stayed at a hotel, did his laundry.
