The Oakleys packed a healthy breakfast for Scot and he was on his way. Hes
following Kurts rail to trail route. He says the rail to trail is so much nicer.
Its out of the way but its worth the extra miles. He feels safer and the trees
break the wind. Scot stopped at a historical village in Panora. They had moved all the old
buildings and concentrated them in this area. They even have a working telegraph.
Yesterday was the full moon. It was so bright that Scot woke up in the middle of the
night thinking it was morning already. He had a hard time going back to sleep.

Scot camped at Prairie Rose State Park near Jacksonville. It was hilly getting into
Prairie Rose. Other than that, the trail was mostly flat. He passed a Danish village. He
also watched turkey vultures fly.

Scot only has a few miles to get to the border. He passed Loess Hills and Nishnabotha
River along Route 44. By the afternoon rush hour traffic, Scot made it to Council Bluffs,
IA. He should be in Omaha, NE before nightfall. He called Tom and Patty with Health Cycle
for directions to get into Omaha. He said it was bothersome crossing the Route 6/480
bridge because the minimum speed was 40 mph. Gregg, the master mechanic at Health Cycle,
gave his bike a check. Fairing is upside down, hmmm. Gregg also suggested a route across
Nebraska. Scot only spent close to $3 today - $2 for french fries (which hes getting
to like) and $.75 for a banana and orange. Hes spending the night at Tom and
Pattys place.
