Why I'm Riding

- Scot Colburn

I'm biking 'cuz I'm worried about global warming and Americans' disproportionate contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. I'm biking so that people will think of a bike as a transportation alternative when traveling, whether for pleasure, business, or simply to see other places. I'm biking because cars kill people and animals and take more planet to produce than we have to go around. I'm biking because an airline-passenger mile produces about a pound of carbon-dioxide. I'm biking because Americans consume 27% of the world's oil with only 5% of the world's population. I'm biking because I want to see our country and the world without killing it. I'm biking so that it will be easier for others to bike, and more people will do it.

Whew!
